We love the adventures our mountain bikes take us on as we travel around Australia. For the first year and a half of our travels we didn’t have our bikes with us, part of the reason was that we thought it would be too difficult taking the bikes on and off all the time to access our rear canopy.
Having missed bike riding so much while travelling without our bikes and realising the missed opportunities that we could have had exploring so many areas by bike, (like ULURU), we decided to research bike racks as we made it back to our hometown for a family visit.
After reading about and seeing the Rockymounts Swing Away design in action we took the leap and bought one.
We have never regretted our decision and are just so glad we made the choice to bring our bikes along on our travels. We have enjoyed so many biking adventures since then.
We ABSOLUTELY LOVE the ease and convenience that our Rockymounts Swing Away bike rack provides. We simply turn a handle pull up a pin and swing it out of our way.
As we have a rear tail gate that we need to open constantly to allow us access to our pantry/travel gear in our sliding drawers, we REALLY needed a system that allowed us to do so with the minimum of fuss and effort.
As you can see by the photos when fully swung open our Rockymounts bike rack sits parallel to the side of our vehicle, well out of the way of our rear tailgate and main canopy access point. It also still leaves plenty of room to open the side window of the canopy on that side of our vehicle.
